How to pay using xPortal

xPortal

Updated over a week ago

This guide will teach you how to make your payment from xPortal. If you’re looking to pay with a different wallet check here for the full list.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at paying using the xPortal wallet.

After choosing to pay with a wallet you’ll see the screen below, where you should choose xPortal.

Doing so will prompt the xPortal overlay with a QR code. Scanning it with your app will prompt it to connect to xMoney and once you accept it you’ll automatically move to the next step.

You’re now connected and you’ll see a list of currencies that are supported by xMoney. You just have to pick the one you want to use.

Note: Please review the article containing details on the currencies and networks we support, along with information on payment configurations and constraints.

Paying with xMoney token or MultiversX token

Note: If you choose to pay with Bitcoin and Ethereum, the explanation for that process is after this. Because you’re using xPortal, all you have to do is click the pay button. Doing so will initiate a transaction that you’ll have to confirm in xPortal. After that, all that’s left is to wait for blockchain confirmation. More details on that are here.

This process should do all of the hard work for you. However, it’s always a good practice to double-check if you’re sending the correct currency to the address displayed and through the correct network. Failing to do this will result in a loss of funds. Below you can see an example of a payment about to be done using EGLD on the MultiversX network.

If for any reason you’re having difficulties using this process, please note you can still copy the destination address displayed (or scan the QR code with your wallet) and input the amount to pay to initiate a manual transfer.

Paying with Bitcoin or Ethereum

Because these currencies are using their respective networks, you’ll have to manually initiate a transaction in xPortal instead of having the payment widget prompt it for you. To do so:

  • Scroll down to your list of currencies;

  • Select the same currency you selected in the previous step;

  • Tap send;

  • Input the amount to pay you see in the payment widget and tap continue;

  • Paste the address you see on the payment widget (or scan the QR code), then tap next;

  • Verify all the payment information and tap send

Very important: Always double-check if you’re sending the correct currency to the address displayed and through the correct network. Failing to do this will result in a loss of funds. Below you can see an example of a payment about to be done using BTC on the Bitcoin network.

After that your transfer is on the way and all that’s left is to wait for blockchain confirmation. More details on that are here.
